Description

This is a Dapol 4F-020-010 Cattle Wagon BR B893521 and has been weathered. Cattle wagons were made in large numbers and were a common sight on rail in all parts of the country until their use was eclipsed by the use of specialised road vehicles. After their obsolescence, the ones that were in a fit enough state were often converted into ale vans for the conveyance of beer.

The Dapol model of the cattle van is based on the GWR design, of which over 1300 were built and features:

  • Highly detailed body moulding
  • Profiled wheels
  • NEM pockets with self centring couplings
  • Accurately applied livery
