Delivery Charges

Here at Tennents Trains we try to be a fair as possible when it comes to delivery charges which are passed onto customers. Everybody hates them but they are a necessary evil if we are to prosper in the world of online retail.

We have set our charges at what we think are very reasonable levels and, in the main, use the Royal Mail to make our deliveries, although other carriers may be used from time to time. Costs of delivery inevitably rise on a fairly regular basis and often depend upon volume of business offered to the carrier. We are trying very hard to compete with online retailers who despatch far more parcels than we do on a daily basis, so please compare us on a like-for-like basis when price matching online.

Some items have to carry a delivery charge regardless of the order value because of their physical size. This is unfortunate but we are still subsidizing the carriage cost to minimise the impact on you, the customer. Generally these are items of track around 1m in length but may include other very heavy objects too. We continue to seek cheaper alternatives to the carriage costs we incur and we will remove our carriage charges as soon as it is economical to do so.

Inevitably, delivery charges may change without notice but we do sincerely hope that you understand that any changes are absolutely necessary to maintain the right level of service that we can offer to you.

Despatch is usually made the same day if the order is received before 3pm and all items are in stock, otherwise the order is depatched on the next working day. Please forgive us in periods of holiday when there will be an inevitable delay in the despatch of your order, but we advertise our holiday periods well in advance to help all concerned.
